The Need
Lack of Community
Even though around 10% of the population identifies with the 2S-LGBTQ+ community and lots of progress has been made over the years, 2S-LGBTQ+ people are still feeling a lack of societal acceptance and the inability to be out about their identity.
Mental Health
The mental health of 2S-LGBTQ+ people is impacted by accumulated stigma, prejudice and discrimination, leading to higher rates of depression, anxiety and suicide than general population.
Lack of Inclusive Services
Studies show that 2S-LGBTQ+ people are more likely to either leave their home region to access more inclusive services, or hide their identity from their service provider, resulting in inadequate services and unmet needs.
